QUESTION

Does KLC properly support terminal SSH access to Mac agent endpoints?

ANSWER

Yes, for 10.5 Intel and later agents, though if your VSA web browser session is connecting over https:// using any supported browser, then this Mac agent terminal endpoint functionality will not work in KLC as of v6.2 and later software, as this will be permanently addressed in a future software release. If this is the case for you presently, here are the workarounds you can use for now:

Option 1 - In v6.3, there is a manual v6.3-based patch that will allow this particular KLC section to bypass the https:// restriction and just use http, but still of course maintain the military grade agent to VSA encryption (which the terminal session connects within). If interested, see this page (if using v6.2, upgrade to v6.3 first (or 6.5)).
*Note - This option 1 workaround only applies to On-Premise VSA users.

Option 2 - From a Windows admin machine, use the Remote Control > SSH page option and connect to the Mac endpoint that way (10.3 and later).

Option 3 - Do not connect over https:// for that session/time (disable the auto https:// redirect via the System > Configure page if enabled for the duration of that).
*Note - This option 3 workaround only applies to On-Premise VSA users.

Option 4 - Use KLC > VNC Desktop Access and in the VNC session launch Terminal.app on the endpoint.
